First Edits
I woke up early today in order to get a copy of the Turkish Daily News.
Walked to the Tunel metro station, which is about 10 minutes from my place and found the weekend edition on the news stand.
Bought it and headed to the nearest Starbucks coffee shop. Coffee with milk - and of course there is no such thing as skim milk here. Whole milk only.
Sat in a comfy chair and cracked open the newspaper - oh the smell of fresh print - and started scanning for my edited articles.
There they were!
I read the paper from cover to cover (a ritual I miss dearly) and was editing articles in my head as I was reading them. Some are very poorly written.
Whenever I found an article I edited, I felt so proud. I would usually feel shy about reading my work, but I read it and it sounded OK. I did find a couple of changes that were made after my changes were put in place - that's fine. And I even found a couple of errors that I know were not there. Oh well.
Take a look at the Turkish Daily News! and read the following articles that I edited. But, of course, read them all.
Roma neighborhood of Sulukule awaits demolition
Was that the sound of rain or was it a dream?
Red card to fish farms in National Park
A number of the Domestic stories - a lot of them
OK - not going to name any more because I want you to read the newspaper. Enjoy!
