HTML

I've noticed a pattern. I keep writing about one class and what do you know, it's Thursday and I had the fantastic class again and I'm going to tell you exactly what happened.
Last week's assignment due this Thursday was to put our resume's in HTML. Piece of cake. Seriously, how hard could it be?
On Tuesday, a couple of girls from the class decided we should get together in the newsroom and work on it and that I must come to solve all of their HTML issues. I thought, why not. Of course, drinks at a bar will follow at 4 p.m.
I showed up in the newsroom ready to do my own work. I think I got as far as putting Anna Olejarczyk in the heading1 code followed with my address aligned to the right before someone was tapping my shoulder and asking me why their table is broken. (and bribing me with alcoholic beverages after the HTML session as a payment method if I could just solve their problem).
Wednesday was when I tackled my design. I couldn't decide how to do it. I started off with tables because I thought that would make my life easier and realized it didn't. Then I wanted to use dev tables instead, that formatted my page nicely. But, of course I encountered some issues with my style sheet. In the end, I did have to resort to some help - thank goodness Peter was online and I went to him with two problems.
1. the bar at the top wasn't extending the whole way
2. the links text was very tiny
In the end, I got him to make more changes for me while I dictated through iChat - I love that darn little thing. And Peter, the guy that he is, had to add a couple of changes to my resume. He inserted a dancing mouse in the field where my photo resides and below that a marquee that said:
I am seeking a large male with a large penis and sexy hair. At least 7 feet tall. I enjoy long walks on the beach and yelling at electronic devices. I have plenty to offer such as wide birthing hips and crazy black hair.
Clever. Oh, how clever. With every change he added something else and before he sent me the page warned me there are five spots and not to send this to my professor. Smart. That was good advice.
And of course, I had to take the cliche photo. How sophisticated is that, eh?
Next day in class the professor told me he emailed me extra reading, oh just for me, on style sheets so I prepare myself for the journalism program's website migration to a new content management system so that my web techy skills can come in handy when they redesign everything. So now I have extra reading on style sheets and the content management system.
I think this shall be a very interesting project. Plus, I miss web work. I miss working on a website and building pages. It was so much fun!
Here's my RESUME ONLINE if you are interested in seeing my rather disappointing creation. It did get ooh's and ahh's in class, but I don't think it merits them at all. It's so plain.
