School Was Right
The fire that was burning inside me because of excitement and passion for writing and producing has been blown out.
The school was right.
I went into all of this too quickly.
I have the school nagging me about my outstanding work, which one night I did half of because I couldn't stop writing! Then the next day, it happened. The fire was blown out. I exerted all my energy to get half way.
Now, do I need another 4 months of recovery to get the other half done?
I was going to quit today. The school won. The director won. I should probably write an email saying, hope you are happy because you were right.
I haven't seen anything of this city. I've seen Taksim. I'll go back to Canada and boast how I saw Hurriyet corp building, my room and Taksim. There's only so many angles I can capture my room in.
I think I'm going to start taking pictures from the bus that takes me to work.
We pass the old city walls, an ancient Muslim cemetery and across from that a Christian one.
A Greek Orthodox church (stunning) and a lot of beautiful mosques.
I think that's all I'm ever going to see of Istanbul.
I'm pissed off at work that all I do is edit. And then when I look at proofs of pages minutes before they are sent off, I find tons of mistakes, the editors of those pages get angry that I found them.
Question remains: Who is editing those articles?
There is only one more editing intern and the copy editor. The copy editor is really good, so that pretty much leaves...
Whatever. I'd rather report and I'm even scanning press releases to try to find out of press conferences I can go to, because no matter who I tell to send me or make me write articles, I think it goes in one year and goes out the other.
Fine. I'LL JUST FUCKING EDIT.
Or quit tomorrow and tell the school they were right.

I guess you're glad you didn't quit school then, eh?? It sounds like you're still succeeding over there getting your own stuff published and stuff. I guess things can't be totally awesome in the first few seconds.
