Alone

She left. The plane is taking off right now. Will land in Toronto at 10:00 p.m.

The owners drove us to the airport and then they waited until I said goodbye to my mom and took me back home. Didn't I luck out or what?

The goodbye was very emotional. She was telling me last minute recipes and how to cook this and that. And of course asking when I will be back for Christmas. Tears were shed. Then she was off. Left her at the security gate and hopefully she is on the plane right now taking off.

After I returned, I went straight into moving the furniture around in my bedroom. The owners took one of the mattresses, gave me a new desk chair and I asked if the bed can be moved to the opposite side of the wall. It was moved!
Then the dresser from the living room was moved into the bedroom and placed just outside the bathroom door. Perfect. It is all perfect now. Made my bed just the way I like it and now I'm sitting here all alone.

I'm alone.

On my way home last night, I had my first real encounter with living on my own. I was told to bring butter on my way. I stopped off at the grocery store and bought a couple of items. Checked out and felt a burst of freedom. So, this is what it will feel like picking up groceries after school to make dinner. Yup. I'm independent now. I'm all alone.

Being on your own does not have to be filled with loneliness. In time your life will be filled with people again... enjoy the peace while you can.
