Anxious
It's the second week of February. In a month and a half school will be over.
It has now come to the point where I should start hearing from the various places I sent off my resume for internships. Still nothing. Only a few know where they will intern and the rest of us are left feeling anxious.
J had a theory. The places we apply to take all of our resumes and post them on the wall. Then they throw a dart and wherever it lands, that person will get a job.
My theory is a black pit where emails go and can never be retrieved.
I've been getting some feedback from Turkey and I wish I could just say: I have a placement! I know where I am going to be in May. In the meantime, I can only keep applying to jobs.
I'm now employed. Acting editor at the school of journalism website. This shall help support me for a bit. I've been getting a number of freelance opportunities as well - again this shall help me a bit.
One more week and it will be reading week.
Going to spend two days in Whistler. My friend S is up there and I'm going to crash at his place while J gives me a couple more ski lessons.
Other than that, I finally managed to go out to a live music event. Convinced my girl friends it was time to experience downtown and get away from the west side. We had a really great time. A much needed night.
On Sunday, I am going to see Cradle of Filth - a band I used to be obsessed with. This is the closest to BM that Vancouver is going to see. They are playing at the Commodore Ballroom, which is the best venue in Vancouver, with two other bands. Trying to get an interview with 3 Inches of Blood. Did I mention the ticket is free?
Those are the perks of writing for the entertainment section. Cd's and concerts. It's been a while since I reviewed a concert and even longer since I reviewed a cd. I'm reviewing the new Skinny Puppy and hope to get my hands on the new Cradle of Filth.
Other than that - I've been doing good. I have an economics mid-term this Wednesday. I'm going to fail. Letting you all know.
I'm meeting a lot of new people. Expending my circle of acquaintances - always a good thing.
And I'm sleeping. Probably why I have a lot of energy to tackle all these new projects.
Cannot wait for reading week. Cannot wait for Whistler. Vacation, I need you.
