Web Madness

Back at it again.

The News & Writing class entered a contest: Covering the AMS elections. The best coverage wins money at the end, which I'm voting to use to buy a new heater.

We talked about this before the holidays and I spoke up that I didn't want to be involved with the web. I wanted to be the editor. Well, that position got filled by S and the only other one available was Web Editor. Fine. Web Editor it is. But, that doesn't mean I'm Web Developer! Unfortunately, that's what everyone thinks a Web Editor does. I should be concentrating on coming up with content and fun ways of promoting it and not building the site. I'm not a developer.

When the developer left last semester after we got the Thunderbird up, he didn't go over his work. He didn't inform me where everything was. I was searching for templates and figuring out how to create a root directory and make the current directory a sub-directory. Madness.

In one day, it was all up. I must say that this time around I have a web team! E & J are marvelous! They rock! While I was putting the darn thing together, they were uploading articles and creating links. It worked like a well oiled machine - well, almost.
