Blast from the Past
The last two weeks have been very interesting.
First, an old friend with whom I haven't spoken for a year messages me and tells me he's on vacation in Vancouver. Really didn't want to see him, after all there are reasons why he is not a favourite in my books.
We met and it wasn't that bad. He came with his friend and it was rather nice.
Then it was off to Deep Cove on Friday. Catherine moved there and she invited a bunch of us for a BBQ and a sleep over. She lives in the most stunning place. Not far from Mount Seymour. Ocean. Hikes. And I got to see a seal. How lucky am I?
Returned on Saturday and I suggested my friend comes over to my place. I will cook dinner. He did exactly that. Plus, I couldn't really do much else. We rented to two great movies and then the truth came out. I told him that I hated him. And he revealed his feelings of affection. We've known each other since first year undergrad. We have gone through so much. And in all this time he was falling for me.
So what's a girl to do?
I see long distance relationships breaking up.
I see them not working.
I even experienced it not working in less than a week.
How could I agree to this?
I've been going back and forth with these emotions. Once it is, yes, I'll give it a shot. And another time it is, no way.
I did something that I knew would make me happy. I rearranged the furniture in my apartment. A shelf that had absolutely no purpose now does.
Then I went out looking for a love seat. Found one in an antique shop - perfect - for way too much.
I found a cool scarf that is now a table cloth.
And I found some sheer curtains that I would like to hang up in my window.
I want to make this place really homey.
Next step: Frame the posters I brought out here and never did it.
After that, frame more pictures. Right now they are all over the "new" shelving unit.
